The PayWithLiteCoin campaign launched by the Litecoin Foundation for global integration and mass adoption is already making headlines. Litecoin Foundation started the campaign to make Litecoin (LTC) accepted anywhere money is accepted in the world.
The PayWithLiteCoin campaign is quickly growing in popularity, and Gabriel Francisco of TMT Blockchain Fund believes that Litecoin could become the first cryptocurrency to achieve mainstream adoption with this project. On the PayWithLiteCoin website, Amazon, Ebay, Starbucks, Seamless and Uber are the top 5 requested integrations from users. Litecoin may not have been integrated into any of the above companies, but it has from other business, most recently Litecoin got adopted by SurfAir.
Litecoin (LTC) Gets Accepted by the ‘High’ Community
Not long ago, Litecoin Foundation started the #PayWithLiteCoin campaign and the Foundation is pushing the campaign to make LTC an acceptable payment option everywhere money is accepted. However, Litecoin’s quick, and effective payment has fallen into favour of an online community, and have decided to accept Litecoin as a payment option.
Weedmaps, has come open about its intention to accept Litecoin as a payment option for delivery of packages. Weedmaps is an online community for marijuana users which also delivers marijuana. The legal small private delivery service community has come open about their fondness for Litecoin and announced that individuals in the community can now pay for services using Litecoin.
The announcement was made by the founder of Weedmaps, Justin Hartfield who in his opinion stated that Litecoin will serve a better purpose in the Cannabis industry than Bitcoin. This may not be the biggest integration of Litecoin into a business, but it generally is a good sign, showing the effectiveness of Litecoin’s payments and the progress of Litecoin’s payment.
Litecoin (LTC) Goes Legal in Thailand
On the 14th of May, 2018 Thailand’s announced the integration of regulatory framework in the country for initial coin offerings (ICO) and cryptocurrencies to function in the country. Three days ago, Bangkok post reported that Thailand’s SEC will allow seven cryptocurrencies to be traded, exchanged, used for ICOs in the country.
Litecoin (LTC) is one of seven cryptocurrencies legalized by Thailand’s SEC, the Press release however stated that all seven cryptocurrencies are expected within 90 days from the effective date, and must be approved by the Finance Ministry to function. LiteCoin Foundation is yet to react to the news leaving enthusiast unsure if Litecoin has been officially registered in Thailand.
Price and Market Performance of Litecoin (LTC)
The hack on South Korean exchange platform Coinrail last week further increased the selloff, setting into motion another bearish trend. Over 99% of the market traded in the red over at some point in the last one week, and the cumulative market cap of all digital assets dinked below $300 Billion.
Regardless of the bearish trend, at some point last week Litecoin (LTC) broke the $122, analysts and the Litecoin Community expected a bullish outbreak, but the bears hit back, and hard. As at the time of this writing, the crypto market spilt into two, half trading in the red, and half showing positive signs.
As at the time of this writing, Litecoin (LTC) is trading at $107.02. Litecoin (LTC) is now ranked as the 6th largest cryptocurrency with a market cap of $6.1 billion USD. LTC’s faltering prices has in no way affected the effectiveness and progress of the Project.
