WILL KING BITCOIN EVER DIE? FIND OUT MY THOUGHTS
All hail the king!!!
Since its inception in 2009, Bitcoin has been tested every bit of the way; from people being skeptical about its adoption; to its sudden rise in price in 2013; Then crashing the next year because of the Mt. Gox hack which shock the confidence of early adopters; In 2017, it reached its tipping point, going over 10k and some 12 million customers signed up on Coinbase. Suddenly everybody wanted a piece of this little dude they laughed at before. Babes started running after him, dudes started giving him their cash, people laughed at his bad jokes – everybody wanted to be with the new King.
All of a sudden, the trials Bitcoin had gone through was forgotten. Come on, Nobody remembers? I doubt even King Odysseus could measure up to the epic struggle Bitcoin has gone through to be where he is today.
WHICH ALT COIN WILL OVERTHROW THE KING?
First, they said it was Ethereum, and we all held our breaths to see how the new kid in the block will overthrow the King of blockchain. But it didn’t happen. Some other Alt coins have been hyped to be the one to overthrow the king, but that hasn’t happened yet. When people talk about the down fall of Bitcoin and how the mighty new Alt coin king will lead them to the promise land they forget to add that Bitcoin is still the primary trading pair for other cryptocurrency assets. It has even been termed as the Digital Gold’.
Quite alright, Bitcoin has its faults such as: Scability problems, transaction fees and yada yada yada… I’m not going to bore you with charts and things you probably heard numerous times. It is still too early to write off the king. He has been with us all these time, and he’s still struggling to take us out of this dark times. While people want his down fall and for the rise of their favorite Alt coin, they still pray and hope he goes up, so as to keep prices stable. The irony of the whole thing makes me laugh in Chinese. You’re hoping that the king you wished dead saves you. Better make up your mind? My advice, accept the king for who and what he is, and focus on helping your favorite coin climb to the top.
A king cannot rule a Kingdom without his Knights, nobles and peasants. There’s a place for all to co-exist. Till a warrior coin good enough to take the reins of power comes, Bitcoin remains King. Shalom!
