Burstcoin Network Large Scale Attack #3 - Poloniex Disabed Deposits and Withdrawels

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Hi All,

Quick update this issue with burstcoin and the overwhelmed network continues. poloniex has decided to disable burst deposits and withdrawels

The blockchains are still pretty forked with nodes struggling to sync past certain blocks. and wallets crashing due to running out of memory with the garbage collector.

we can currently see 2 chains overall competing for consensus. when one of these rolls back loads of transactions will also get rolled back to. also exchanges, pools and casinos will see big issues as their sql database wont rollback meaning that coins deposited will stay there and possibly allow for big problems.

burst-team has released a new wallet version to help sustain the network but this shouldn't replace the current version yet as from word and mouth it can neither be used to mine on or send transactions.

@lexicon I believe I mentioned this coin and spoke to you about it here:

I guess I was correct, things have gone from bad to ballistic

things have gotten pretty nuts. that man is now on steemit to under the alias mikethemug. his posts were down-voted to oblivion from the looks of it

This is a Great Post regarding the TRUTH about what is really going on with the BURST Network right now. we are going to go get some Popcorn this is getting really interested.

ddos attacks and threats between community's the stuff never seems to end. its pretty much drama coin.

Yeah, let us create a fork of BURST called DRAMACoin.

Man what a mess, I am hearing rumors of devs being in on these attacks because they cannot fix their own problems so they are DDOSing themselves. Wallets down, all exchanges on lockdown. This could happen to any coin at any time, sometimes you can get a guy to hack your site. Wake up, things are never as they appear. I am not saying I know what is going on but I will be one of those selling all my burst as soon as I can because if your tech cannot protect itself from allowing this BS to happen then you should not be offering a coin to the public.

cool

I attempted to mine burst at one point with a very small hard drive, so I have some experience with it. This is a real shame.

Crypto volatility at its finest. August 1st can't get here soon enough. 🤤

holymoly... :-( very sad

The important date is August 1. But I believe that the 30-31 closing will begin for all transactions.

Has anyone ever stopped to think that the Central banks of the world created crypto-currencies as a test bed to shake out all the bugs in their development and to gain wide-spread use and acceptance before they introduce their own version such as a Fedcoin/Fednote? A fedcoin that they would have control of and force governments to outlaw all competitors. Thus creating currency world-wide that could be turned on/off at their whim!

A cashless society invites the ultimate censorship by government a best and an EMP would send the world back to the stone age!

Just a thought before you swear off cash!
