We Have A Hypocrisy Revolution, Not A Blockchain Revolution

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

If you are new to the crypto-space you might be in awe about the development in the blockchain sphere. What most "experts" are failing to tell you is the basic psychology that goes on around a coin and how it comes to become popular.

Forget about the adaptation, "the future" and all that crap. We are 10 years in and not a single coin has had a wide world adaptation other that what some of us (me included) chose to transact while we live off the grid. We are not many though. People like me use Bitcoin, they don't hoard it so they can exchange it for millions. We use it for actual real world applications and not as means of speculation. We have been doing this almost since the beginning.

Now, there is nothing wrong with speculation. Just keep in mind that this is not a real world application. If you are living in the "real" world and exchange on a daily basis cash for your daily transactions while you hoard BTC in some private wallet then you are not taking part in any revolution. You are merely a speculator like any other. You just want more of that shiny shiny so you can get a boner with every blockfolio refresh.

Most "experts" in cryptocurrency are individuals that migrated from gambling. They use the buzzwords in their posts, youtube videos and forums in order to attract new investors. ICO's are ranked based on followers on Telegram. Guy X said to Guy Y about an exciting new coin that will change everything. Hype is created, coins pump and the first guys cash out. Most coins work like that. There is nothing revolutionary about speculation. The only revolution is the amount of idiots that are able to take part and how easily a nobody who lives in his mom's basement becomes a "blockchain expert" and on paper multimillionaire.

If you are not using technologies like DEX's, decentralised storage, dedicated chains for services, or peer to peer cash for buying and selling and so on then you are in the space much like the rest of 99% of the people. To make good old cash. We have a revolution in hypocrisy not Blockchain. The Blockchain revolution is way ahead. It is the future, sure, but it is not happening now. The funny part is that, if this shit show falls apart nobody will be surprised because we all know deep down how messed up the speculative part has become. That's perspective.

Great points to think about

The blockchain is here, , , and yes there is the good the bad and the ugly, but if people don't get there head of out their ass and jump on they are going to be SO 2008.

Peace !!

This is a logical first step of every new technology - the most greedy and profit-seeking people are usually the first real wave of people allocating the needed capital to develop the new technology. Adaption should follow soon.
Check examples of Railroads, Internet and etc. Always the same circle of events ;-)

What does that tell you about the future CEO's if they are the first to be the billionaires? Nothing really changes at the end.

I haven't changed since I got into crypto. I am just one hell of a lot wealthier (And not speculatively. I can travel, buy a house, eat often in restaurants - none of which I could afford before crypto). I do a significant amount of introspection. I do not think that I am one of the most greedy and profit-seeking of individuals.

That is the ideal. But not all people see it like this when they get good money for their work.

well, i think that the cryptos space needs to expand more to gain better acceptance where we can actually purchase real goods and services. Government intervention and crazy policies discouraging people to enter into space definitely needs to improve. Honestly, I agree with you that the FOMO is getting a little too much.

we are having tons of crypto coin which we can use as transaction media but we are not able to use because of the a lack of knowledge among the people because e of these shity governments rules.

Let's see how this revolution will last once something faster like Hashgraph comes out with its own coin.

Going into crypto just for making money out of speculation goes against the concept of having non-regulated, decentralized money. And by the way, even that does not apply much if governments can tax them as usual.

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals ....", Agent Kay. LOL!

Maybe not so much hypocrisy as it is positioning.

I am not spending my holdings, but I am still active with them positioning for future investments... Real Estate, Businesses, Lending and yes a trinket or two.

However as a business owner I have been accepting payments for all products and services in the cryptos for 3 years now... so I am working partially as intended and positioning for the future spend.

Indeed I agree there is not revolution here. I think the different crypto currencies are being beta tested for a final one world digital currency that the elites will use to control the masses. If they do not like what you say they just turn off your currency with a button. It will be one part of the chip that all will have. It is in the Bible in the book of Revelation. but no there is no revolution here as folks are just biding their time testing it all out.
