MyEtherWallet Hardforks Following Twitter Hostile Takeover

A tweet from the Myetherwallet twitter account, announcing that it had rebranded as MyCrypto, a move that took one half of the Myetherwallet team by surprise given that the twitter handle was changed without the knowledge or permission of MEW's co-founder has lead to a tweeter spat between both co-founders Taylor Mahanon and Kosala Hemachandra. This is coming on the heels of of a legal lawsuit that was filed in December 14, 2017, with one party accusing the other of failing to allow them inspect company books. It now looks like there will be two competing entities moving forward, it remains to be seen what long lasting impact this split will have on the ethereum community.
