THE FUTURE IS YOUR GENOME - SHIVOM PROJECT

When I was a child one of the things fascinating me the most was how all humans are different and that I am so unique. I was always wondering if there is some other individual that looks the same as me, on the other side of the world. All those billions of people and there are no copies, if you don't count identical twins, is a real miracle when you think about it. Then I grow up a little bit and found out that a reason for such diversity was in our genes. Those chemical information databases in our bodies are in most cases ruling over our lives, deciding who we are and what we can achieve.

Then I grew up a little bit more and learned that medicine and pharmacy are still based on outdated techniques and technologies. Even all of us are unique and different; we are still medically treated as we are the same. Usually, doctors use trial and error methods on us, and if we are not lucky, then they won't heal us, or will even ruin our health. Even in last decade medicine started slowly introducing individual genes therapy for persons rich enough to afford it for themselves, for most of the humanity this kind of medicine is still out of reach. In 2018 there is no reason for all of us to accept old medical treatments and gamble with our health. Today I am presenting you Shivom project that deals with this problem in the best possible way and creating a fundation for future personalized medicine.

Genomics + Data Privacy + Blockchain = SHIVOM - Medicine for 21st Century

Shivom is blockchain based genomic data-hub that will unite patients, genome data donors, medical experts and pharmacists into one ecosystem. The plan of Shivon founders it to create the universal genomic data-hub that will be accessible to everyone and bring world health system into the future. Every individual will be able to contribute their DNA sample and get their genome sequenced and stored privately on blockchain for any future personal medical use. By doing so, contributors will not just be provided with direct insight into their health risks and get better medical treatments thanks to that, but will also be able to share their DNA data with the world to help different science health research and earn money for doing that. On the other side of Shivom ecosystem, pharmaceutical companies will have direct access to DNA data of every individual that decide to make it public. This will accelerate development of new drugs and make personalized health accessible to everyone in the near future.

According to Shivom roadmap, they plan to continue their development through next two years and create nonprofit drug discovery precision-medicine organization with the use of state of the art technology and artificial intelligence. To do this, they will need to partner with different pharmaceutical and data analytics companies and at the same time gather great amount of personal DNA data to create the world biggest genomic data-hub. This looks like a huge task, but if the team deliveries everything, then Shivom will become one of the giants in personalized medicine business of the future.
