Dash is working on decentralized masternode pooling with proportional voting via the "saving" account in the upcoming Evolution releases (I think it won't be released from the beginning). There are over 4700 Masternodes. According to the active membership numbers on Dashcentral, the avg. user there controls about 3.5 Nodes, so we can guess that there are about 1.300 Masternodes owners. By the way, to what do you compare it? How can I have any influence inside the ecosystems of the main competitors, BCH and LTC for instance?
Gotta watch this. Might even dub in German if IT is good and sound.

depends how you define centralized.
they put the shares into pools and then fill it up to have a full masternode.
worldwide there are only two services i know of. (centralized?) the service above even grants you voting rights for the DASH Budget proposals. so the shares system is an awesome way to get into DASH with "small" money.
