I think he is just playing around, to see how much influence he might have on cryptocurrency.
Stating that cryptocurrency is a fraud, will cause a ripple effect in the industry but will recover in a couple of weeks, maybe in days.
Conspiracy theory: My opinion is that he is trying to make money on the market, behind the scenes. Imagine how much money would, someone with the wealth he has, can make by intentionally make any market drop $200 to $500 overnight knowing it would recover in a couple of weeks or days. BINGO!
If I had 1 billion dollars in the bank to invest in a sure thing, I would be buying Bitcoins right about now. I would not mind making about a quarter of a billion in a few weeks. Not bad!

When you get to control and master the game of “MONOPOLY”, wouldn’t you hate if someone changes the game. You operate under new rules and very little control. He will still make a lot of money, but it’s not the same if you can’t control it.
Let’s face it, people like him can control the government and who ever controls the government will control the rules of the game.
There are a lot of people making a lot of money on crypto market and it would be very difficult to stop, if not impossible, to change the future of cryptocurrencies in the whole world.
He does have a point, when he says, that the government will try to get some control in the process. The government will not allow a currency that cannot be control. My question is; HOW CAN YOU CONTROL A TSUNAMI, AN EARTHQUAKE OR A HURACCAN? YOU CAN’T!

Of course JP Morgan is going to bad mouth anything they can't control and manipulate. It gives a quick peek into exactly how threatened they feel by it.
He will try his best at knocking down bitcoin. He is afraid his empire will fall.
JP Morgan's people are the last ones on the planet to comment the bitcoin. How much fiat have they burned in 2009, how they even have a face to go on the stage and speak. It's a shame. And probably himself is investing in crypto while threatening to his employees. I really love to see these desperate central banking scammers how the baby BTC is already causing them problems.
I am sure he is investing. Think about it. The bitcoin market changes so much in minutes that you can make a killing in the bullish and in the bearish in a short time.

He either doesn't understand the technology and its potential or more likely, I think he's scared to wake up one day and see the all mighty empire he is part of disappear - replaced by code running on millions of computers and smart devices worldwide.
Thats an every day scenario. The difference is that he can't twist some government's arm into doing what he wants when it comes o cryptocurrency and thats what pisses him off.
