Another week, another learning curve!
Hi Steemians!
I hope you have all had a fascinating week. For me it's been a learning curve (again), lots of highs, some challenging lows and culminating in a bit of success at the end of a week!
To give you some context, a friend and I who have recently become increasingly involved in crypto currency investing set up and ran a workshop to teach people the basics of cryptocurrency and the technology that underpins it. I was again struck by what an amazing innovation and shift it represents.
One of the things that really interests me is the way in which central banks have essentially been printing money that has no intrinsic value (especially as it is no longer attached to something of value i.e. gold). I was remembering how powerful the crypto currency movement is and about how essential it is to continue to understand how we need monetary systems that retain value and trust. It seems to me that our current monetary reality contains neither of those elements which is why crypto currency is so essential to nations moving forward.
It feels like we are really on the edge of something in regards to seismic shifts in the nature of how we perceive value and I look forward to watching things unfold in the next few years.

Take care and enjoy some of the photos of Cape Town in the summer, the city we now call home!

I had a great week, thanks for asking.
It seems 2018 is poised to be another GREAT year for cryptocurrencies 👍
A diversified portfolio seems key, but more important is to simply have exposure to cryptocurrencies the next few years.
I'm glad you had a good week!
Once we get through January I think things will start picking up again. Have you seen any exciting ICOs lately? Some good ones to check out incl. CargoX and CryptoCurve. (not financial advice ha)
well, i think that cryptocurrencies will be more important in the future
For sure, always good to remember the functionality of them and why they're so great. I've found the media doesn't always portray the full picture and so it's easy to loose the real power of them in all the hype. Good to remember the basics eh? Thanks for the comment too, appreciate it.
