STEEM to Poloneix to Payza

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Had the most heart-dropping moments in my fledgling digital currency transactions this past week.

I'm so new at this, I didn't even know that my account was worth any money til like, last week when a friend told me Steem had suddenly given me the power to hit pay dirt if I had any good amount of posts in the past.

So coming back to Steemit, I was really shocked to find that my account really WAS worth something and off I went to go find out how I could go about to get things withdrawn and turned into actual spending cash!

This is an amazing step by step walkthrough of the entire process and kudos to this guy who took the time to post everything and log it all down for newbies like me. EXCEPT for the fact that Poloneix has had the most disgustingly bumpy transaction service EVER.

News you can read here:

I am not ENTIRELY new in transacting online, but I'm a pretty traditional gal. I like dealing in cold, hard cash and the debit card was already a big allowance I gave myself when I started to have money that was worth spending. It wasn't until after I got married at age 29 (3 or 4 years ago) that I realised that cash bank and points on a credit card would actually not be such a bad thing either, so you can imagine how sceptical I am about getting online and dealing in digital money.

IN ANY CASE, as everyone probably knows, Poloneix had a huge hiccup with getting money into users accounts the last few weeks and I was pissed as hell because there's barely any news about it from them.

No information on their website, when you send them a customer service ticket to find out where the hell your 3 digit figure has gone to and nobody is responding to your emails save for some silly automated response, and suddenly everyone on Steemit is bitching about how it's been happening to them too...

I even went to search for Facebook updates from Poloneix and turned up some Twitter feed from them that doesn't even acknowledge this problems that all of us are having trying to use their platform....

You have no idea how my heart totally sank when I found out this money that I never knew I had ended up to look like money I'll never have when Poloneix screwed up like this.

And to think that I was so eager to get all the cash out that I didn't do my research...

But, at last, it looked like the fog lifted and I finally saw money in my account and fast as hell, I went to get things transferred out to Payza.

OMG. My story doesn't end here.

In the interest of saving time, here's the short version.

  • had to wait a couple more days to verify identity and add bank acocunts.
  • had to find out that I can't bank transfer because Singapore isn't on the list of countries that have their currencies registered with Payza
  • AT LEAST they have online chat bots (?) and immediate support to get this done so I swung over to the bank wire function where I found out that you can only wire in GBP or EUR

Look, at this rate, I just want to get my money out of there, so I don't care and I wire everything out, not caring that I'm going to lose more money transacting from BTC to GBP/EUR and THEN to my home currency.

SERIOUSLY.

Well, at least now I know better about how to manage moving my money from here to there.

And in my desperation to get all my money out, I've found this pretty neat digital currency compare and contrast site so you can take a look at what your money looks like in all the different currencies.

I feel more enlightened already...

Here it is: https://www.bestchange.com/

It's actually pretty foolproof too - you click your currency on the left and what currency you want it transferred to on the right and Voila - instant exchange rates across all the accredited ones available online. Or at least accredited by the site themselves anyway.

For now though, there's ooooonly another huge load of STEEM POWER left to power down for me and then the cycle will start all over again. So let's hope that they come up with a new way to get your money out of Steemit, and fast.

Thanks for reading guys!

GIMME MY MONEH,
Jess
