If the hashing algorithm makes it decentralized, the supply augments that decentralization. Although we have seen massive rise in big supply coins in the recent bull run, coins with big supply tend to be stable in price action in my opinion. One of the reasons SBD shot up to $18 was its very low supply as compared to other listed coins. Steem is quite the opposite.
