Alert Websites Phishing Similar to Bittrex!

In most cases, this kind of fraud involves exchange website exchanges or fake wallets. Users are often contacted via email, which is often arguably a success. This is a big problem that needs to be addressed.

Criminals know exchange users often use less account security. All they need is a login and password to drain the user's account balance with ease. In the case of Bittrex, this becomes much more difficult. In a new update, the Bittrex company introduced 2FA which is email-based and mandatory for all users when logged in. A good step forward I think, especially given the growing number of phishing scams currently in circulation.

Top search results for Bittrex on Google regarding phishing fraud issues. This is one of the sponsor ads that appear during Bittrex's search for most people. The domain name in question is bittrex.ltd. The domain also uses a fake description that makes it look somewhat legitimate. We must be careful when Googling for a website address when entering it manually. Not hard to remember the domain name Bittrex.com. Even so, novice users often do not know anything with this concept, which makes them vulnerable and become easy targets of such phishing fraudsters.

This fake Bittrex site looks like the original copy. However, when viewed more closely in the address bar Bilttrex.com is a fake domain open the original domain that is Bittrex.com. This domain was registered about two weeks ago. It appears that the fake exchange exchange ads are no longer appearing at the moment, which indicates that Google is taking action against this fraud case.

Not enough here, we may see more phishing sites like this in the future. Cybercriminals know users save a lot of money on the stock exchange wallet. Enabling 2FA in your account is a clear first step for man funds to secure your funds. Not keeping funds in an exchange wallet is a better strategy. There are dozens of mobile wallet solutions, desktops and even hardware out there. Keeping your funds safe should be the number one priority for every cryptocurrency user. Otherwise, phishing attempts like this will still work and get rampant.
