RE: Blockchain bible and crypto church | A compendium for the friendly crypto investor from next door
What are your thoughts on Ethereum and it's supply? From what I understand, ethereum's supply will continue increasing while bitcoin's maximum supply is 21 million. Wouldn't this inflation reduce the value of Ethereum?
Ethereums inflation rate will drop with the release of casper... So Bitcoin will have a higher one in the next years.
Furthermore if you want a capped Ethereum then go for Ethereum Classic, but I don't see it as a problem... I'm more afraid about the crash of the ICO bubble and the hardfork that could happen with the casper release, because miners won't like that...
Bitcoin's cap could also be increased in a future hardfork so don't be too sure about it (:
Thank you for your response :) Do you think casper will make the network much faster and solve the scalability issue it has been facing? Ethereum classic (the original ethereum) was hacked before and that's why I am afraid to invest in it and also it seems obsolete since there already is bitcoin. I think if they mess with bitcoin by splitting it and or increasing it's cap limit it will crash the coin and all the alt coins with it will go down too. Do you think the prices of everything will fall significantly? :)
Casper will speed up Ethereum, yes, but the real increase in scalability will happen with the realease of Raiden. It works pretty similar to Bitcoins lightning network.
ETC is backed by Barry Silbert, who wants to see ETH crashing and will try his best that this will happen. Furthermore there are ICOs coming to ETC to increase the value of it and all the ETH miner will switch to ETC, as soons as the difficulty bomb and ice age in ETH starts.
Yes you are right, Bitcoin would loose its value if the cap gets increased via hardfork, but this doesn't mean that it won't happen.
Right now nearly all coins are overvalued so a drop in value is necessary! Let's lean back and watch what will happen as we get closer to august (:
I hold stratis, ethereum, basic attention token, and bitcoin. And, I am thinking about cashing out because i think you are right about everything being over valued
I just don't know if i should at least wait till monday to cash out because everything has dropped very low so far. Do you think I should move everything over to ETC and maybe Litecoin?
You shouldn't do this because of the opinion of somebody else :D
I won't cash out because of taxation... I need to hold it for a year and then it's tax free.
Furthermore I don't mind loosing my investment, but if you would have problems with this, then you really should twink twice.
I'm so excited about august, like a D-day for Bitcoin :D
Well, when I said cash out, I meant hold it in USDT until the storm settles and then maybe rebuy :/ haha
Even this would be taxable in my country and I have to pay 42% of my profits, so no thanks :D I prefer letting the the market crash 42% more...
Oh damn, that sucks man. I wonder if I have to pay any taxes in the United States :/ i mean i won some money but i also lost alot and i think i should be even... but i haven't been keeping track , lol
August is the month where we find out what will happen with bitcoin, right? Dooms day for bitcoin, haha? I don't think they will do a hard fork but what do i know. What's your favorite crypto? And, what do you think about litecoin?
Actually before that... We can see possible solutions startig mid to end of july, but in August it can get really ugly, yeah :D
Or maybe, it could turn out the be amazing :/... Btw, what do you think about investing in Steem? I am willing to risk and buy some more steem power, in your opinion is that a good idea?
