With cryptocurrencies hitting all time highs throughout 2017 is there still potential for massive gains or have all the golden opportunities been missed? The market is obviously still in its very early stages and will likely continue its meteoric rise for the foreseeable future. There are plenty of projects with the potential for 50 to 100 times gains over the next year and probably plenty of new ones we are yet to hear about. When EoS first launched its year long ICO back in summer it was being called ‘The Ethereum Killer’. The idea of a year long release of tokens seems to of been a pretty bad marketing strategy however and that has killed a lot of the excitement around this project. Investors should remember though this is Dan Larimer’s vehicle and he is one of cryptos superstars. It seems that the buzz around this decentralised building platform is starting to return with recent prices well over 4 dollars. In 2018 it could start to live upto it’s potential and eat up much of the market cap that Ethereum currently enjoys.

Wabi is a crypto that concentrates on supply chain and inventory solutions. Essentially it is a rival to Waltonchain but seems to be much further along with a finished product. The recent ICO sold out very rapidly and many expect Wabi to rival Walt in price and market cap over the next few months. Not on any exchanges yet but certainly one to look out for.

PIVX is very undervalued and has yet to have its real bull run. An excellent privacy and proof of stake coin that also offers master nodes. I expect PIVX to follow the trajectory of DASH over the next 12 months so its current price will look like an absolute bargain this time next year.

Groestlecoin is a currency coin that concentrates on having a very easy algorythm for mining and is Asic resistant. It compares very favourable with other currency coins with the fastest transaction times and zero fees. As 2018 goes on and more people realise the potential of this project I think the price will go from strength to strength.

Electroneum

 

Electroneum has attracted a lot of attention and some controversy over the delayed launch of their wallet application due on November 1st. They have however handled a bad situation very well so far and seem to be regaining the huge hype around their coin, with the rescheduled release date approaching. If the simulated mining works this project could make really big gains in the coming years with mass adoption and a break into mainstream unlike any other project. Even without their funds yet tradable ICO participants have still made more than 10x gains with the present value of mined coins. Add to this that ETN was briefly listed on Coinmarketcap at number 25 and I see very positive things for CEO Richard Ells and his team if they can get a smooth run in next few months. Fingers crossed.

Ethos is a rebrand of Bitquence. What the project aims to do is to combine a multi purpose wallet, that has a fiat gateway, with analysis and charts and a decentralised exchange. It essentially combines Coinmarketcap, Coinbase, Bittrex and Coinigy in one product. Its ambitious but if it works it will revolutionise the way we trade cryptocurrency and could yield great rewards.

Teky is still at pre ICO stage but is a very promising Ecommerce project based in Vietnam. A retailer of smart technology is also has an educational aspect aimed at empowering young people to get ahead in a technological capacity. A solid project with a good team shows much potential.

Metaverse

ETP has had some wallet issues in recent weeks and that has meant some bad publicity and a 50% drop from the all time high. To me thats a perfect entry point for a project that seeks to do everything Neo does and more. One of the developers of Neo is part of the Metaverse team and I think if things can go well this could be one of the most successful projects of next year. Get it while its cheap.

Presearch is a new project just out of ICO that aims to be the Blockchain search engine and eventually rival Google. Its currently listed on one minor exchange so i would expect the price to go up drastically next year as interest grows and it is added to bigger exchanges.

Neo

The final crypto to watch in 2018 is one that is on everybody's radar already after a very successful 2017. Neo is a fantastic project designed to be the Chinese version of Ethereum. It suffered from the Chinese ICO regulations but has since began to launch ICOs successfully on its platform. My theory about Neo is that the Chinese government will eventually allow crypto trading and ICOs back in China but much more heavily regulated and with Neo as the gateway crypto on exchanges rather than BTC and as the only regulated ICO platform. If this happens and the Chinese market opens up I see Neo taking an unprecedented moon shot.
