How to make and use a Coinbase account

So, now you are excited to get your hands on some cryptos, but how do you get in possession of cryptocurrency? You have many options such as a Bitcoin ATM (yes you heard that right a Bitcoin ATM), buying from a private seller, or the most popular way, through an exchange such as Coinbase.

Coinbase is a digital asset exchange where you can exchange fiat money for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Litecoin (LTC).

A) Simply go to https://www.coinbase.com/ and click the sign up box on the top-right corner

Note: Coinbase is not yet available for use in some countries

B) Fill out the information and you will be sent a verification email which will provide you with steps on setting up your account. All Coinbase accounts have a wallet that can be used for sending and receiving funds. At minimum, you will be required to complete the following steps when creating a Coinbase account:

• Enter your full name

• Verify your email address

• Accept the Coinbase User Agreement

C) Once you verify your email you will be asked to connect your bank account in order to purchase digital currencies. This will allow you to either buy cryptocurrency using your banks ACH network or using your debit card to buy instantaneously. Using the ACH network is cheaper but takes a few days to be deposited to your Coinbase account.

Please make sure that you choose which option you want to use when buying under the Debit From box.

You will be provided with a BTC, ETH and LTC address which you can use to receive funds. Every time that you want to receive funds you will be given a different address however do not panic as each address is linked only to your account thus you can use every single one at anytime and the funds will arrive to your account.

D) You will have a $5000 weekly limit if using the ACH network and a $500 weekly limit which you can increase by providing more personal information
