Really? A Brave New World of Crypto Currencies?

Just a thought about the often mentioned bias for crypto-currency as opposed to fiat currency. That fiat currency is controlled by governments and can be manipulated, massaged and created out of thin air, according to the whims and fancies and greed of a few in control and in power.

That crypto currency returns this power and destiny back to the people and as it is decentralized, it cannot be shut-down and controlled by governments and those in power and influence.

Here's what I find contradicting and fanciful. As it is now, crypto currencies are traded on exchanges and their value in the price movements can go up and down, changing its individual value.

So, how can one say crypto currencies are different from fiat currencies and that it returns control and value back to the people? The rich and powerful and the very rich and very powerful can either set up multiple farms to mine the coins or convert their fiat currencies into any crypto currencies of their choice and they can then manipulate the price and control the value of the crypto currency they each hold and since the common people do not have the fiat currency means to start mining farms or to buy into the crypto currencies, the issue of the rich gets richer and the poor will get poorer in the crypto world as they're in the fiat world.

I see no intinsic leveller here. In fact, I see the same control, manipulation and fudging in the crypto currency world as it is prevalent in the fiat world and in fact, much more sinister and devious because all these can be done in anonymity and no one will know the net worth or net influence of any one person or house or cartel in the crypto currency world. At least in the fiat world, we can point our accusing fingers at those in power and the government. In the crypto currency world, it will be very much like throwing a dart in a dark room, hoping to hit someone or something. In other words, will be like groping in the dark.

So, to create a brave new world, the eco-system must be able to be born out within that new world and not by pulling in resources from the existing world to kickstart the brave new world. Until we follow this strict parameter to create the brave new world, we would have failed right at the very beginning.
