I would say no - Ripple is an extremely centralized coin, 60% of the circulation is owned by Ripple corporation which basically controls the price.
Another factor is the extremely large total amount in circulation that will hold price down for the foreseeable future.
the transactionfees are burned..so the high amount should not be the problem. Btw. Ripple wants the XRP to be decentrelised and is acomplishing this in the near future.
To be honest i went bullish on ripple cause of the swell conference to make some profit. Nether the less i think ripple has some high value in the future so i will continue to invest in ripple.
