That Dreaded Coinbase bank account verification

So yesterday, after nearly a year of running my coinbase account I decided to run a test withdrawal to my bank account. This following the news that Coinbase had opened a UK bank account and allowed GBP wallets within their app.

After transferring BCH from a second exchange and selling it for GBP, I gingerly went onto trigger the withdrawal to my bank account. It was then that the troubles really began.

First I needed to verify my bank account by sending "a small amount of euros" to a Coinbase, UK account in Estonia! I opted to send the princely sum of 3 euros. There was no option of setting up Coinbase as a payee on my account and I needed to call the bank to assist instead. Which they gladly did. For £10. So there I was sending just 3 euros at the cost of £10 and it would take 3-5 business days. Some privilege.

All this brought into sharp relief the main advantages of crypto, having sent BCH at a cost of 0.001BCH which at yesterday's price was the equivalent of £2.50 and it only took 6 minutes.

I can't wait to dump these bloody banks!!!
