Trump will host the first cryptocurrency summit at the White House on March 7
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, will host the first White House Cryptocurrency Summit on March 7, gathering key figures from the industry to discuss regulations, stablecoin oversight, and Bitcoin’s potential role within the U.S. financial system.

Among the participants will be "prominent founders, CEOs, and investors from the cryptocurrency sector," as well as members of the Presidential Working Group on Digital Assets, according to an announcement shared by David Sacks, the White House "cryptocurrency and AI czar," in a post on X on March 1.
Sacks will preside over the summit, and Bo Hines, executive director of the Working Group, will manage it.
Sacks was appointed as the White House’s cryptocurrency and AI czar on December 6, 2024, with the goal of "working on a legal framework to provide the clarity that the crypto industry has been requesting, so it can thrive in the U.S.," as Trump mentioned in the announcement.
As part of his role, Sacks will also be responsible for "safeguarding" online free speech and "moving away from the bias and censorship of Big Tech," Trump added.
Trump has previously stated that his goal is to make cryptocurrency policies a national priority and establish the U.S. as a global hub for blockchain innovation. This upcoming summit could set the tone for crypto regulations in the next four years.
Sacks has only two years to push favorable policies for cryptocurrencies before the 2026 midterm elections, as Joe Doll, general counsel for Magic Eden, the NFT marketplace, told Cointelegraph in an interview.
Doll warned that a potentially divided government could stifle regulations, and the current administration must push pro-crypto policies while it still holds control of both chambers of Congress.
