What is Electra’s Open Paper and What Does It Enable Us to Do?

A White Paper is the foundation of every cryptocurrency project in the industry. What we encounter when we open a White Paper are specifications and descriptions regarding a cryptocurrency project as well as information about the development team behind the project. The White Paper is a synopsis of sorts, allowing the public to understand what the cryptocurrency and its ecosystem are, what they do better than other cryptocurrencies, and in what direction the team would like to take in future endeavors.

The Electra Project, through the strength of the community, is at the forefront of the cryptocurrency market when it comes to contributions and active participation. In January 2018, Core Team members and contributors created a White Paper to educate the public on the specifications of the ECA cryptocurrency and future plans for Electra products and services. The Core Team has leveraged the power and influence of the community to assist in expanding upon the White Paper, realizing that strength in numbers can be utilized to better every aspect of the project.

All White Papers need to be prepared, written, revised, edited, and published for review by the cryptocurrency community. As updates to Electra’s roadmap are needed, the White Paper is revised to reflect the new specifications or additions planned by the team. Furthermore, The Electra Project works in a cooperative fashion, allowing the community to make suggestions to what is known as the “Open Paper.”

The Open Paper is a shared document. Created for the purpose of allowing community suggestions. The Open Paper operates as the reference technical sheet for the Electra Project and will soon be open to contributors to ensure ongoing development. The Electra Community, in collaboration with the Electra Core Team, is committed to maintaining a dynamic Open Paper with updates published on a monthly basis.

The potential of the Electra Project’s success lies with the cutting edge-technology to be developed around the blockchain. The continual evaluation, analysis, and input from the community will help drive the development of Electra’s technology forward. The Electra Community is involved with many aspects of the development of the Electra Project and the Open Paper is another medium utilized for communication between the community and the developers. The Open Paper allows the community to pass on to the Core Team ideas and visions for the Electra Project’s future.

As new material and proposals are submitted to the Open Paper, the Electra Core Team is considering and revising the White Paper as they deem necessary to keep the community best informed. Revisions that are confirmed by the Electra Core Team are released in an official update to the White Paper, providing the world the most current vision set forth by the Electra Community.

To contribute, community members visit the Electra Project’s Open Paper page on github. As you arrive to the Open Paper github page, you will notice the Electra Project’s White Paper in an editable form. To begin adding in your suggestions, you would need to be logged in under your github username. You are then able to click on the edit button in the top right corner of the Open Paper in order to make or propose changes. As changes are proposed, the document is submitted for further revision by the Electra Core Team.

Generally, when you want to see updates and changes implemented into your favorite cryptocurrency project, you would need to go through multiple hoops and channels in order to get your suggestions across to the cryptocurrency development team. The Electra Project helps streamline the process for the community, allowing suggestions onto the White Paper’s more flexible platform, the Open Paper. The Open Paper acts as an instrument of communication between the Electra Community and the Electra Core Team.
