Waves is a bit of a mix between a centralized exchange and a decentralized exchange. The interesting fact is that they offer a way to earn passive income from your waves -the exchange token- in what they call leasing. You do not lose control over your money and can revoke this action at any moment, this is very important to know. When you lease your waves you allow a full node to use your money to mine blocks. For every block mined they get a reward in Waves in which you get a share according to your investment. You can earn up to 7% per year this way.
