Bitcoin monument ?? Slovenia
Counting just over 50,000 Slovenian residents Kranj will probably become the first city in the world that has erected a monument to honor Bitcoin.
The monument symbolizing the logo of the first crypto-currencies Bitcoin in history, will decorate the roundabout at Staneta Žagarja Street, the fourth largest city in the Slovenian region, connecting the Oldhamska and Gregorčičeva streets simultaneously.
The initiative of the creation of the monument is the local government of the city of Kranj. Financially, the project was supported by two companies - derived from Slovenia - 3fs and Bitstamp. This one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges originates in this country.
The ceremonial, planned for tomorrow, unveiling of the monument will be attended by, inter alia, the mayor of the city of Kranj, Boštjan Trilar; president of the Bitcoin Association Slovenia, Jure Pirc; and secretary of the Slovenian government in the person of Tadeusz Slapnik.
As we read from the official statement in this case, the monument is to honor the first digital currency and the underlying, decentralized technology of the block chain:
"Slovenia will create and send to the world a message that emphasizes its openness to digitization and the desire to use new technologies, as well as support for progressive thinking, aimed not only at optimizing everyday life, but also interpersonal trust, transparency and cooperation."
Slovenia is perceived as a state open to new technologies, including Bitcoin, and very cryptocurrency-friendly tax law of this country has been attracting there many investors creating their businesses based on block chain technology.
