Wordcoin - A Use Case With a Pretty Big Vision

As a crypto writer, I like it when I come across something in the crypto space that isn't just 'the next big financial thing.' I like hearing of something that interests me personally or that solves some problem with a real use case for the blockchain.

This is what piqued my interest in Wordcoin.

Currently in Pre-ICO, the Wordcoin team plans to develop Word Expert, the vehicle for a blockchain-powered platform offering copywriting and translation services. This will bring writers, translators, SMM and SEO specialists together with clients of those services. The platform will provide for the entire process of connecting clients with freelance service providers, as well as ordering, contracting, and payment.

One of the questions I often ask about new coins (and more often than I'd like I don't get the answer I'm looking for) is why does this project need its own coin? With Wordcoin, I think the difference lies in two reasons. One is in the ability to standardize payment, and the second is in the smart contracts.

Of course, they could use another coin for payment, or even use traditional fiat payment services, but it is far easier to configure their own coin exactly as they want it for this platform. And, by now we should all know the many reasons to choose a cryptocurrency over traditional payment systems - simplicity, standardization, convenience, speed, flexibility, security etc.

The contracts automate much of the process that would otherwise require a trusted third-party. That's one of the goals of cryptocurrencies, too right? Eliminate third parties? Seems like Wordcoin aims to do just that.

A buzzword often heard around cryptos is 'decentralized.' But clearly one of the strengths of Wordcoin is the idea of a central platform where one can get access to a host of services - copywriting, proofreading, editing, translation, SEO, ORM, SMM etc.

So, how about those markets? What would Wordcoin bring to them?

For me, as a writer, having a central service such as the Word Expert platform where I can find clients worldwide is a big plus. There are others offering a similar service, of course, but since I also write about the cryptocurrency industry, it is safe to say that this particular platform would be an especially good one for me to find the right kinds of projects. And all the other benefits of Word Expert sound like a great fit.

And, of course, there is the flip side. Anyone needing a writer (or translator, SEO specialist etc) who has a knowledge of cryptos would certainly find the WE platform useful. I’m already working on projects that would benefit from access to this service. Ultimately, WE will attract tremendous numbers of clients and service providers outside the crypto space, too.

By the way, Word Expert is just one platform being built for Wordcoin. They have plans for others. I’m excited to find out what those might be.

But even just in general, the market for these services worldwide is huge. And it is growing and will continue to do so. The Wordcoin developers know that and are trying to secure their place in it. It's a smart move.

For these reasons Wordcoin has got my attention. I hope they succeed and everything that they are trying to achieve comes to pass. It's an exciting use case for a cryptocoin. They'll have me as a user as soon as the WE platform is up.
