Investing and Education introduction on Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technology

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Welcome to the land of Cryptocurrencies and Blockchains:

The blockchain is a powerful concept. It is a fundamentally different way of thinking. Knowledge is the most powerful currency and what will enable you to make money investing. I strongly suggest you only invest in coins that you understand and grasp; Patience pays. I believe we are in the S curve of technology adoption and in the Early Adopters stage. - see article: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/op-ed-bitcoin-not-bubble-its-s-curve-and-its-just-getting-started/

How i value coins:

Market Capitalization

What problem does the coin solve now and for the future?

Coin supply

Circulating coin supply

I also look at trading volume. Coinmarketcap - https://coinmarketcap.com is a good website to get to grips with.

The best ways i have found good investments are from Youtube and Twitter.

I think it is important to get your information from multiple sources which provides you with a greater frame of reference to base your decisions on.

Here are some sources I suggest:

Security tips:

Create a new email address to sign up to exchanges with and do not your personal email address.
Always look to enable Two Factor Authentication on all your accounts.
Create a different password for each account that you have.

Trading concepts:

Stop-loss - this is a sell order which triggers based on an event i.e price dropping.

Limit order - this an order you place on the market and it will get filled if there are buyers or sellers at the price you put.

Market order - i suggest this to start of with. It does it for you essentially.

Please be careful and only invest after doing your own research. Always look for the motives behind what people in this space are saying, for example someone might be dishonest in promoting a coin heavily because they want the price to go up so that they can sell it for profit!
