Why Codius going live is huge for XRP
Recently, Ripple announced that it is going live with its Codius platform. Codius is a platform, similar to Ethereum for building smart contracts. Codius will be able to support dapps similar to Ethereum for building smart contracts. Ripple revealed that it got a lot of requests from budding dapp developers for it Codius platform. Those developers found implementation on Ethereum clunky because it required learning a new language called Solidity. Codius supports the more traditional programming languages like Java and C++. Codius is also more scalable than Ethereum with higher number of transactions per second.
However, Ethereum is far ahead as far as reaching critical mass is concerned. When that happens, it will be very difficult for any dapp platform to catch up with Ethereum. Till that happens, it is a race with EOS, Cardano, XRP & the rest.
