The Flux Difficulty Algorithm™ is one of the innovations of the Ubiq network. Prior to Ubiq there have been other Ethereum forks which were attacked as they did not have an adequate difficulty algorithm which was able to dynamically adjust to hash rate.
In the picture below you can see the phenomenal effect once this algorithm was used in Ubiq at smoothening out fluctuations to give an average of only 88 seconds per block over time!!!!!!!

Exponentially Subjective Scoring is now an optional flag for services like exchanges and pools to calculate during any adverse network conditions including forks. This protection exponentially reduces the window a double spend can take place while also providing seamless consensus of nodes on the “longest” chain.
Designed Monetary Policy, block rewards will start out at 8 and decrease by 1 yearly until it reaches a minimum of 1 UBQ per block
The longer block times of Ubiq means the DAG size growth will be much slower, allowing graphics cards with 2GB RAM to mine for over 6 years. In Ethereum 2GB graphics cards were obsolete a bit over a year later after launch as seen in the chart below.

Summary
Ubiq has definetly great potential, but Ethereum is there to stay at first. Markets will show the future :)

Oh man i can put all my old GPUs to work! Interested in this for sure. Would like to see a few more ICOs launch on this platform. I have quite the ETH mining rig, but I am going to watch this closely. Good article to highlight the differences
