how in the world is DPoS voting supposed to work
i understand steem since it's a social network. you can get to know the witnesses through their interaction on the platform.
but I was just going to vote for some delegates for shift. there's basically no info about who these people are. And I just voted for a bunch so I could get some payouts. I don't have a freaking clue who I voted for.
how does this make any sense? and you also see a lot of these delegates, with tons of coins of course, voting for each other. like, imagine that senators got more and more voting power as they stayed in office. and that rich peoples' votes cost a lot more than the poor people.
but that's a bit of a tangent, my main point is that voting in most dpos systems is a system that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me because you essentially don't know who you are voting for most of the time.
on the other hand, you get fast transactions and no fees. but at what cost?
