Crypto-news: Indonesia beginning to change its mind on cryptocurrency. Example of the people gaining control!

The Indonesian Futures Exchange Supervisory Board, locally known as Bappebti, is reportedly looking to permit the trading of cryptocurrencies as a commodity on the naiton's future exchanges.

As background information, Bank of Indonesia (the Central Bank) issued a mandate last year which threatened a crackdown on anyone caught using cryptocurrency as a payment method.

Despite the threats, Indonesian people have continued to adopt cryptocurrency. There are more registered users on the Indonesia Digital Asset Exchange (INDODAX), one of Indonesia's largest cryptocurrency exchanges, than on the Indonesian Stock Exchange.

There are still very long ways to go for cryptocurrency to be fully adopted by Indonesia. Regulations need to be set up, security needs to be strengthened and more of the public need to adopt the idea of cryptocurrency. But it looks like Indonesia is on the right path for full adoption of crypto and I cannot wait to see what is waiting for them in the future!
