Crypto 101 and Blockchain Meetup 01/29 and 02/19. Decentralized Exchanges, Agorise and Palmpay Grassroots

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

I have been inspired to spread the gospel of decentralized cryptocurrencies and new products (Palmpay), to raise awareness and adoption of cryptocurrencies in the real world. Agorise LTD sponsored the meet ups where I met with fellow crypto enthusiasts in Barcelona, Spain to talk about how the revolution will unfold and how we could possibly get rich from it.

My first meet up on 01/29 was a success with 6 of the 17 people came that said they would. Of the first group we had a wide range of people from beginners to veterans. One guy was into mining. Another participant was looking for ways to enter the market as he was trying to buy his first bitcoin/crypto. He got lucky and bought near the bottom of the recent correction. There was an application developer that showed up and added a lot to the meet up by giving us insight into how different blockchains work and great advice about ICO investing. Another gentleman who has been trading for a few years now, offered good information on long and short trading techniques. We also had a Scottish guy that was just beginning his crypto journey and he was excited about learning and applying new knowledge to his trades

Feedback From First Meetup

My second meet up on the 02/19 was a success. The biggest challenge was that 16 people said they were coming and only four people showed up. One of the attendees was a repeat and we had three new participants. Two were into online marketing which I was excited about as Palmpay needs marketing and promotion. They really liked the Palmpay app and were interested in Agorise. The other newbie was looking for ways to enter into crypto because he wanted to buy his first bitcoin. He was pumped after hearing coin suggestions and possible market trends. He kept saying,"I need to go home and figure out my positions to enter the market".

We also talked about NIO Antonio as all in attendance were interested in trading and they had been looking for a good trading bot. This was exciting to think about a trading bot making us money in combination with Palmpay to spend our profits. A little daydream of absolute freedom using artificial intelligence to make money meanwhile being our own bank that would allow us to live how we want.

In conclusion I feel that both meet ups were a real success. I met nine crypto enthusiasts with a wide range of skills and knowledge. We had great conversations and were able to learn from each other while trying to see new frontiers in the crypto sphere. The biggest challenge was that most of the people that RSVPed didn't show up. However with less people in attendance we were able to talk more amongst each other and elaborate our ideas and experiences in crypto better than if there was 17 people. The other challenge was trying to get people to bring their laptops and setup bitshares accounts. I told them all before they came to set it up, but no one did. I was trying to give away BTS and nobody really cared and some had an account already and they weren't that interested. I am asking for BTS addresses through emails they left me and will send them the talking points of the day and some free BTS when I follow up.
For my next meet up I will try to secure a place where the presentations of the speakers can be shared and people can bring their computers because in a cafe/bar no one seems to want to bring their computers, they just want to talk. Another tactic I will employ is to go to other crypto meet ups and meet people so that I can promote my meet up. This seems like a good technique to get more attendees and create friendships before my meet up, so that there is more interest for people to actually show up.
All in all it was a great experience of making new friends and spreading the good word of cryptocurrencies and usable products. Thanks to Agorise for being an inspiration and a sponsor. The grassroots effort to raise awareness and adoption of cryptocurrencies in everyday life continues. I will keep you all updated!
