Bitcoin spam? testing? what is it? 7 cent Tx fees with thousands of outputssteemCreated with Sketch.

Is it spam? or is it devs testing? Lightning Network testing? New wallets created by a 3rd party service?(think gambling, faucets, referral stuff, wallets, signup bonuses, etc), or is it NYE fireworks on the blockchain(lol)?

sorry for the lag on the video at times. this computer doesnt even have a GPU and had trouble doing the video/audio and the blockchain visualizer along with huge transaction trees simultaneously. Sold all my GPUs back in October lol xD One day I will get the fancy stuff that isnt laggy :)

4+ minutes is me scrolling through thousands of 0.00001 BTC (13 cents ) outputs in groups of about 100(?) and me pointing out the addresses/transaction IDs/etc
Its a lot to sit through, but I figured I'd be more thorough so that it would be really hard to say I faked it or whatever. Check all the stuff it is all legit.

@ 3:10 - bottom of tree ends in currently unconfirmed transaction with 100(?) output.
@ 7:15 watch a totally different spam Transactions propagate while I am recording live
@ 10:45 another one propagates and has ties directly to a previous 100+ output Tx's
@ 12:30 a 3rd joins the party directly tied to the previous 2
@ 15:00 2 more tied to a 1300BTC balance
@ 16:30 another one pops up tied to the earlier trifecta (3)

and on and on and on....forever into the past, and forever into the future apparently lol

@7:00-10:00 it really starts getting interesting when you can watch the outputs propagate on the blockchain visualizer. i highly recommend watching the whole thing thru, even though @5:00 and after it lags pretty bad

I need to find someone/something that can visualize the whole tree to see where the Tx originates & how big it is

My tweet about it:
https://twitter.com/CryptoChronicus/status/947722137741287424
TREE FOR TRANSACTION
100+(?) transactions for 0.00001 BTC(13.8 cents at this time)

See it on the blockchain here:

GO DOWN TO THE LAST ONE WHICH IS AN OUTPUT OF JUST UNDER 1 BTC (WHERE THE CHANGE WENT)

CLICK ON THE YELLOW CIRCLE AT THE BOTTOM TO SEE WHERE THE CHANGE GOES

It makes another tree of 100+(?) transactions for 0.00001 BTC (13.5 cents)

and on and on until you get to the end, where there is a currently unconfirmed 100(?) output transaction (blue circle)

In the blockchain visualizer, you can watch the little suckers propagate live

and eventually they reveal that they are linked in a long chain

I also noticed one of these other big two are associated with a 1300 BTC address

They're drawing triangles? Prisms? lol

One thing to notice, is that every single transactions is NOT a SegWit transaction, and yet if you take the mining fee ($7) and divide it among the 100 outputs, each you get 7 cents transaction fee for each output. Without SegWit. On Bitcoin. What do you guys think this is? The transactions go on literally forever?

interesting article !!! thanks for writing it :) in #pivx since the new protocol it is harder to see it :).

thanks! Man PIVX is in my Top 5, and is my privacy coin of choice :) I do want to try Monero though. Maybe I will today!
