Let's talk crypto in an easy way/ help newbies/ page 2/portfolio allocation
I hope you do not consider yourself as a good trader in a beginning and even if you are, you master your trading skill with a small portion of your stake. Finally, after you done your research, fundamentals, and your ready to fill that bag with a different coin, let's talk about portfolio allocation.
Your funds are 100% Lets split it for:
- 50% -Big caps. Capitalization more than a billion dollars
- 25%-Med caps. Capitalization from 250 millions to 1 billion
- 25%-small caps. Capitalization less than 250 million
Big caps is the coin you going to hold no matter what, the coins you like, believe in it long term and as I said going to hold no matter what. Your goal to make it bigger...you take a profits(fiat) form this cap ... you adding positions from this cap... it's your everything ) Important: 25% profits from mid-caps, should go to fiat!!! Treat Yourself
Medium caps are the ones you want to become a big caps one day, but you should fill free to take profits if it needs, and move them to your big caps. (%, when to take profits, is up to you, depends on how much time you spent on crypto) I would guess if you take 20% its mean that you basically have access to crypto every day, other people don't bother themselves if it less then 100%.
Small caps- time to gamble!!! The potential reward here is huge, research harder to do, but principals are the same, you want to get your profits and move them to the medium caps.
Hints:
- Treat yourself by taking off some fiat, go to the restaurant, buy something.... kind of help you understand on a feelings level that all this crypto staff is real, and it will play out for you. I know it may sound weird, but just believe me in at this.
- Base the percentage you taking on a time you are able to spend on crypto. here is no bad and no good side... of course if some coin go 5-10x you should have time to take that profits
- Do your homework... Good research always pays off. Don't base your buying decisions on a twitter or other platforms. You should ask yourself questions about "why you buying ?" and have solid answers for yourself.
