Cryptocurrency is Booming in Africa

Some are predicting Africa will surpass us due to outdated entrenched systems and markets. It’s what they call leap frog. As Michael Holiday pointed out,

“Africa is in a position called leap frogging. They have no need for landlines they have cell phones. No need for a grid they have solar. No need for banks they have crypto.”

In Africa you could go and install new technological grids and you don’t have to retire the electric company and its infrastructure. That is one example but you can get the picture. Technological advancements are asking multi billion dollar industries to step aside.

This will take time. But no one has an idea of how long. The wealth being created by the cryptocurrency markets should start slowly equalizing wealth in society. Which will make it easier to implement new technologies without multi billion dollar industries standing in the way.

Government not minding their own business could cause Africa to progress faster than the developed world. If #crypto takes hold in #Africa it would be interesting. It would be like they started using email while Americans still use the post office just so government can continue to get money from snail mail. Government should not hold back progress.
