RE: Question regarding upvote values or amounts
hey! so as you vote, the amount of your vote decreases slightly. I don't really have a solid take on it, but something something 'vote power'. you know what? @nicnas can you please explain? I'm failing.
Hey!!! Thanks for your reply, much appreciate it. I was noticing that some of my votes give out like a few cents, and then others give out none. I know I read somewhere on here that we should limit our votes to like 10 or so a day, is that recommended or just a guideline???
Look forward to @nicnas explanation if they get a chance to do so. Thanks
It could be a few different reasons. The most likely is as beth said above. Voting Power. You are allowed 10 full 100% upvotes a day. So if you upvote a lot the value will go down with each upvote. Or in this case, if there was a lot of time between votes it could have regenerated VP (voting power).
Other possibilities are that you voted on a comment that was passed 6.5 days old. It would have allowed you to upvote but with no value.
EDIT: After looking at your steem power. Your vote is probably less than .01. So what most likely happened was that the comments already had upvotes on them.
Hi Nicnas,
Thank you very much for taking the time to come here and reply to this post, and further explain why this happened, much appreciate that!!
I am still learning the ropes here, and was wondering why some of my votes gave more than others did, this makes sense. So, how could I go about increasing my steem power? Welcome any additional suggestions.. Thanks
