How will the "New Internet" effect our ability to stream media?

There is a concept emerging as a modern trend. Decentralization. As more and more tech becomes decentralized, we see a protection of information outside that of a single companies ability to handle. Decentralization is a community effort. Add to that the immutability of the blockchain technology, and suddenly you have a system that is super secure for sharing data of any kind.

But, transmitting it all over the HTTP(s) system leave potential bottlenecks and back doors for hackers to gain access or block.

This "New Internet" fixes that issue.

IPFS (Interplanetary Files System) creates this decentralized, blockchain enabled, sharing system. A good analogy of the concept is presented here.

Ok, so, this new internet sounds great and all, but how is it going to effect media?

With a decentralized system for storing the data, and a super fast connection to the data through IPFS, you'll be able to stream movies with no latency. Pull up multiple songs and run them all at the same time. Watch Livestreams without buffering.

But, where will you get access to stuff like that? What company/program will you use to access it? Google? Bing? Amazon?

No. There is a new company currently in pre-alpha release that is testing their tech to utilize the IPFS system. It's a cryptocurrency called Visio. @visio did a write up on Steem that you can read about how they are pulling it off. The tech may be a little down the road to use, but, more importantly, their crypto coin isn't. It's available right now.

Cryptopia has it listed and tradeable right now. Currently valued at just around $0.06 per coin, this little sleeping monster is ripe for early investors to jump on.

The part about Visio that has me so excited, is that they are creating a end-user friendly platform that will be easy for our grandmothers to use. Just access the site, and click the media you want to view. Boom. Done.

As more and more people from the general public get excited about this little program, you're going to see a mass-adoption event. With mass-adoption, value goes through the roof.
