5 countries united to fight with crypto-criminality crimes

Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States launched an alliance on tax law, to create a system for investigating crimes using crypto currency.

The new coalition, called "J5", includes agencies to ensure compliance with laws from five countries.

It is known that the agencies will cooperate in intelligence and criminal investigations "to reduce the growing threat to tax administrations created by crypto-currencies and cybercrime," and will also try in every possible way to prevent transnational tax crime and money laundering.

Not so long ago, the intergovernmental organization for economic cooperation and development (OECD) urged different countries to intensify their efforts against those who commit tax crimes. Therefore, the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) launched an international task force along with tax authorities from four other countries.

In February of this year, the IRS department assembled a team of 10 new investigators to strengthen control over those who use crypto-currencies to evade taxes.

The IRS also participated in joint activities with the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI in criminal matters related to crypto-currencies.

"We can not continue to act as before, isolating our information from the rest of the world, while organized crime and violators of the tax regime manipulate the system and use gaps for their own benefit. J5 intends to destroy these walls and become a progressive operating group that can put pressure on the global criminal community in a way that we can not do on our own, "- said the head of IRS-CI Don Fort.
