Ethereum is about 400 million times more expensive per calculation than Amazon Web Services!

I think that's the cost of decentralisation. In decentralisation when one thing needs to be computed by multiple machines to verify, costs increase accordingly. But the question to wonder here is, will this property (40 million times higher calculation costs than traditional servers) let ethereum grow to a future where we imagine everything is decentralised?

Even storing data on ethereum is very expensive. Have we considered these facts before investing for long term in ethereum or any other decentralised platform?

But first of all ethereum shouldn't have been marketed as decentralised web, it isn't. It's a platform for specific tasks which won't require calculations as they're done in the test in above article. But still, the bottom line, ethereum is very costly.
