Today, I discuss about BitPesa's partnership with a Japanese based firms to digitize remittance.

Japanese based firm, Sompo Holdings has partnered with BitPesa to digitize international remittance.
This deal entails Sompo Holdings will enter BitPesa's capital as a shareholder and help to better navigate the financial sector.

Also, BitPesa had recently partnered with another Japanese based firm, SBI Remit. This deal targets cross-border payments between Japan and Africa. It also offers direct trading pairs of the Japanese Yent and African currencies such as those of Ghana, Morocco, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa.

Just at the moment we are working on the remittance system. BitPesa looks great. How much is it used in real life in Cameroon?

Bitpetsa is not operational in Cameroon. This post and many others under my Crypto Africa series are based on my findings and research as a young African Crypto enthusiast.
Yes, I would love to see it happen. Good thing is that there are no reliable or popular Crypto exchanges in Cameroon. So, the market is still very much open.
A Steem integration would be perfect to promote the adoption of Steem as well as create more awareness of cryptocurrency in Cameroon. It would probably get me working on my Steem Cameroon initiative once again.
I created Steem Cameroon which is an initiative to promote Steem and get more Cameroonians on Steem. We were over 40 members and growing at the time but the lack of support from the community, no use case of Steem in Cameroon and the RC nature of Steem turned to scare many away.
