China tests delivery with drones, and delivery time drops to 20 minutes
When that hunger strikes, and you do not want to leave the house, nothing better than asking for a
Delicious food, right? After all, just wait for the delivery man, and that's it: the meal is guaranteed. But what if the
deliveries were made by a different means?
How does it work ?
This is what is happening in China. Alibaba's Ele.me company system is making the
drones service in Shanghai, Jinshan Industrial Park. The model used was the E7,
known to carry up to 6 kilos and fly up to 20 kilometers away, with an average speed of
65 km / h.
How does this help?
The best of all is the speed: the estimated time of delivery is only 20 minutes, since there is no traffic problems - important factors in the cost of transportation.
In the future, the idea is to expand service for rural and sparsely populated regions, creating an air delivery system.
So it's easy to understand why features that are meant to make life simpler are so popular, right? At the case of the drones, Alibaba and other companies involved will take note of some user data, such as the amount they usually spend on meals, preferences when deciding what to eat, and even their payment profile. However, do not get too excited; although the idea is good, it is likely that this initiative is not applied in residential areas.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time that Chinese companies use drones to do Cainiao, an affiliate of Alibaba, used small aircraft to take tea leaves harvested in the mountains straight to the processing centers.
