Dear Diary: Today I Have Used The Exodus Desktop Wallet
It came into my thoughts lately that I have to make use of a desktop wallet so that I can have a place to store my cryptocurrencies on top of a hardware wallet that I am already using. Now since I already have a 64-bit computer and a good Internet connection I decided to download the Exodus wallet from their website https://www.exodus.io/
Using the Exodus desktop wallet is easy but you have to put some cryptocurrency in it first for you to setup your password and most especially your 12-word backup keys (Write it down on a paper) which you can use in order for you to retrieve your cryptocurrencies in an event that you needed it be. You will also be asked for an email address where you also can retrieve your private keys.
So if you do not have a hardware wallet yet but have a 64-bit PC you can install this convenient tool to store your digital assets so that you could control your keys and you can finally say they you "own" your own cryptocurrencies because you are holding your keys for them and not relying solely in the mercy and risks of putting it all in a website or exchangers somewhere.
