They outline what is being deleted when you decide to do that. Essentially, anything outside of Google+ that you have connected to Google+ will remain. That includes YouTube videos, photos, things like that. If you uploaded a photo directly to Google+, it will be deleted. If you saved it in Google Photos and pulled it into a Google+ post, it will remain. That's how I understand it.

But that's if you delete your account yourself. Of course, all your data will likely still exist on their servers.

I'd use DuckDuckGo more often, but my occupation requires me to have the best and most up-to-date research. That's how I can charge top dollar for my writing services. So Google reigns supreme. But DuckDuckGo doesn't track searcher behavior.
