Hello everyone welcome to another home work task given to us in the crypto academy community by yohan2on which he discussed about centralized and decentralized apps and I am going to be comparing and contrasting both apps that falls in those category.

Steemit our new decentralized censorship resistant social media platform is poking the big bears that are in hegemony today. But not for long. We know that Facebook is playing dirty games, from spying on your and selling your "private" information to censoring you on sensitive topics including but not limited to politics. Also in multiple cases of riots, social media blacks out immediately from that location, very strange....

This will all end with the advent of STEEMIT! Steemit is a censorship resistant decentralized social media platform that will do none of these, and furthermore give you a chance to earn money, instead of abusing you. Let's line out a few differences:

Steemit vs Facebook

Steemit

Steemit is just like other social media website but it reward it's users with a cryptocurrency called steem for publishing and curating contents.

Merits of Steemit

1). Steem is crypto currency that can be earned when you are using steemit which can be transferred into exchanges or wallet.

2). SBD is another cryptocurrency known as steem dollars which can be earned when you write and be curated by steem curators or the whales in the steemit blockchain which you use to trade for steem.

3). TRX or Tron is another token that can be earned from steemit when ever you are rewarded for your post by the steem curators.

Demerits of Steemit

1). Delays in curation has been one of the problems in steemit for a long time which discourages some users after joining steemit.

2). Boring Layout is another bad side of Steemit, in this day and age social medias are unique because of their layout which attracts users.

Facebook

Facebook is an American online social media that connects you with friends, families and people from around the world, it was founded by mark zukerberg.

Merits of Facebook

1). It is very popular which makes it the site which many brands use to announce important things and also you can get updated news from around the world.

2). Facebook users ranges from the young to old which I think it is because of it's simple interface and layout.

Demerits of Facebook

1). Scam is spreading like fire which is a problem and that is why a lot of celebrities prefer Instagram over Facebook.

2). Fake accounts in Facebook now is a problem because of it is very easy to just create an account on Facebook book unlike steemit.

Conclusion
