Bitcoin Halving In Less Than 10 Days. What Will Happen?
Bitcoin halving will happen in less than 10 days. That means that the miner's rewards for creating new blocks will go from 12.5 BTC per block to 6.25 BTC per block.
There were two halvings in the past for Bitcoin, one in November 2012 when block rewards went from 50 BTC to 25 BTC and one in July 2016.
Experts disagree on how the price will react. Some say that the Bitcoin is already priced in considering the increase in price in the last couple of weeks and that people are trying to get as much extra BTC in the last moments before the supply drops.
However, in any normal market, the decrease in supply coupled with a steady demand leads to higher prices.
One thing is almost certain, nothing extraordinary will happen in the next 10 days or immediately after that. We should probably look at how the halving influenced the Bitcoin price 6 to 12 months from now.
