I am very new to this. Is buying steem just like buying bitcoin?

I am looking to do some more mining. Any suggestions on cloud mining?

Do you know of any tutorials that you can refer me to on cryptocurrencies, mining, trading?

You will never mine enough to matter on your home pc at those hashrates, your best bet is to buy bitcoin and trade it on an exchange. I have been mining Electroneum with three laptops and my desktop and get about 15 per day.... You really need a rig or an antminer if you want to mine Bitcoin or Ethereum.
