Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz in the night
Trying to get to sleep, lights are off, so tired... and there it is again, a feint buzzing noise, gradually getting louder. You quickly turn on the lights... nothing... lights off again, so tired..... buzzing returns, louder this time, almost like there’s something in your ear....
A quick head shake does nothing, so you end up slapping your ear until the buzz subsides.... quiet, all is safe, you start to drift off to sleep, half wondering if there ever really was a buzz at all.... then
BUZZZZZZZZZZ!.............
You jump out of bed, lights on, determined to unleash a world of hurt on said buzzing, only to be foiled once again by silence and calm.... so, off with the lights again, back in bed, different tactic now, fully covering yourself with your covers
New tactic works like a charm, no more pesky buzzing for you, but instead, you are now starting to sweat, the heat building like a hot summers day, to the point it feels like you’re basking like a lizard in the Sahara desert......
The heat wins and you poke your head out from under the covers, taking in a fresh breath of cool air, so tired that you forgot why you were hiding under the duvet in the first place....
BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!
Mosquito wins, EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.
