Solana’s New Features Enable On-Chain Transactions Across the Web
Solana, a leading blockchain network, has announced two new features that enable on-chain transactions across the entire web:
Solana Blinks and Solana Actions:
Solana Blinks are shareable links that allow users to initiate Solana blockchain transactions directly from any website or app where a link can be shared. This means activities like voting, donating, minting NFTs, swapping tokens, and making payments can now be performed seamlessly within social media, messaging apps, and other online spaces.
Solana Actions are a set of APIs that return Solana transactions, enabling these on-chain actions to be integrated into various platforms. Users can sign and send transactions using native app and mobile buttons, scannable QR codes, and shareable Blinks.
These new features, developed in collaboration with Dialect, aim to make blockchain technology more accessible and user-friendly by allowing on-chain transactions to be initiated directly from familiar internet platforms. Major Solana projects like Phantom, Backpack, and Jupiter have already integrated these new capabilities.
The introduction of Solana Blinks and Actions is part of the network's broader strategy to drive mainstream adoption of blockchain technology by simplifying the user experience and expanding the reach of on-chain interactions across the web.
