Opera adds new features and AI themes to its browser
Opera has released Opera One R2, a new version of its browser with several enhancements, including:
- Floating multimedia controls that can be resized and moved around the browser, matching the theme. The updated Music Player allows pausing or skipping songs without switching tabs.
- Split tab feature for working on two web pages simultaneously within the same browser window, similar to newer browsers like Arc and SigmaOS.
- New tab features like decorating tabs with over a thousand emojis and "Traces" to highlight recently closed tabs for users with more than 30 tabs open.
- AI capabilities in Aria, Opera's browser AI assistant, such as image generation from prompts, voice output for accessibility, image understanding to analyze uploaded images, and page context mode for summarizing, finding information, and translating webpages.
- New customizable themes with sound effects for certain UI interactions.
These features aim to enhance productivity, accessibility, and personalization in Opera's browser. The Opera One R2 is currently available in developer beta, with a full release planned later this year.
