Cryptocurrency Mining on the PS4 !!!!
So today I noticed that MinerGate has a web-miner so you can use your browser to mine for cryptocurrency, and while i was looking down, i gazed upon my PS4, and i said.... well why not PS4 has a great GPU perhaps a decent CPU, and perhaps via the web-browser mining i can leave my PS4 goes nut on AEON, which by the way is the only crypto working for me.
however, after a lot of hassle i managed to log in, as for some reason the browser was getting jammed on login to my minergate account, and finally upon pressing on START and waiting for half an hour or so i couldn't manage to hear the fan of my PS4 nor any hash power showed up in the browser.
so the experiment failed, even after searching and asking Mr. Google about it, it seemed that for the time been is not accessible, in addition there are alot of posts discusing that ps4 migh offer 250-300 Mh/s , so it is not that impresive anyway.
if you know anything about how to make ps4 mine , please le me know in the coments.

Bitcoin (the king) is here to stay, and cloud mining is more profitable due to the difficulty level nowadays for individual miners. I use scottish-based Flymining. Website nice and payouts and $10 a month contracts.

hahhaha well i agree , but i always have this idea , if i have my pc on most of the time,, why not use the amount of horse power that i am not using for mining... but hey you can not blame a guy for trying

to do something practical, someone like minerGate has to find a way to send hashing task to the ps4 cpu and gpu via the browser, or basicly the ps4 browser is not allowing those task to pass though to the system.
the other idea is developing a native app for mining and publishing it via ps4 store, but hey sony will never allow that i believe.
perhaps only when they make SonyCoins, as at the end i think all of the company will switch to those currencies, and it has a dual property of stock and money.
what about if you partition the HD and install win or linux on part of it and you switch when you want to play and mine when you are not doing anything? In this way you can install the mining softwares.
yah there some tutorial how to do that, but first they are not stable , second i already updated my ps4 to latest update.
Is there a Linux distro for the PS4? Or one that will run on it?

have you tried to use just your authedmine url in the browser directly or even injecting the miner into its traffic, i've literally just had this conversation. ? its possible to inject the miner into the traffic using Bettercap or CoffeMiner, locally hosted you could attempt to make it mine. wonder if u can mine monero on ps4. makes me want to try now lol
