Blockchain Google Drive Alternative
Introduction
I'm a big believer in decentralization and crypto world. As blockchain technology has developed from only a currency application to a whole new value introduced by Ethereum smart contracts, this has made billions of opportunities for new apps to be developed on the blockchain creating a big potential and a new era of the internet.
Although what is called Dapps (Decentralized Apps) is now going viral, Ethereum gas prices has stood against itself preventing developers from making some free decentralized applications. That lead many other developers to fork current blockchains to make some transaction-free applications.
As a big supporter for decentralized apps. I would like to introduce some apps that I start using which works on the blockchain.
Graphite
If you use Google drive for storing your files or editing your docs, you can consider using Graphite. I'm not moving to use current blockchain apps because they are better or profitable. I'm only using them to support the decentralized community which I think supporting it will help building a better world in the near future.
So don't expect much from Graphite. Just use it if you like using decentralized apps and would like to support the movement to a better decentralized world.
In Graphite you can also use collaboration and a blockchain based chat called Stealth. I'm now using it with my colleagues at work for documents collaboration and I think it works very well.
NoteRiot
If you are an untidy person like me! , and you use a lot of notes around your desk, I really encourage you to try NoteRiot Dapp. It's very simple and useful. I know there are several apps around there for storing notes, but I really like the way NoteRiot is presenting my notes, grouping them in a very convienient way and labelling those groups. It's also that I like to support blockchain projects!

@rushdbitar, I'm waiting for the continuation of the topic
Very nice, while I have my own solution, this could be a good alternative when I need to share something with people on the outside.
Can you share your own solution with me?
@rushdbitar I have a DS918+ Synology NAS (Network Attached Storage), Synology are focusing on small and medium size businesses and are trying to emulate google services. While the office side is not as advanced yet, they keep updating it and then you have other kinds of services as well, like, chat, video, Email etc. and this is all included with the NAS.
I figured the only way to truly stay private, is to have something at home. Of course I have encrypted online backups as well just in case.
Here is a link if you are interested: https://www.synology.com/
Thank you for sharing this with me..
I once was working with CCTV installation. And I remember using their NAS as DVRs.
I don't like using Hardware anymore. Because you buy something and it may fail within 3-6 years. On the other hand, cloud providers will take care of the Hardware and you don't need to get panic to lose data.
So true, I just wish I could trust these companies more. In the end It's up to the individual and what trade offs one is willing to make.
That's why I'm supporting blockchain apps. Because they can't control your data.
