Status ICO coming in a week. Here's the introduction video. Is it the future of Web 3.0?

Status claims to be the gateway to the Web 3.0, the Decentralized Internet.

Today, their official presentation video came out, explaining what their vision and their mission are:

I'll try to summarize what they envision to become (informations mainly taken from their whitepaper, which is available at https://status.im/whitepaper.pdf ):

• A gateway to the Decentralized Web, like a browser granting you access to all the features the Ethereum network can provide through its apps

• A p2p encrypted messaging platform

• A smart payment system, with a built-in wallet able to hold multiple coins and exchange them in no time, making it also...

• ...A trading platform

• A decentralized push notifications market and client

• A username ENS registration system, which will be used in the messaging platform and in all other applications

• An account reputation system (a sort of Premium level achievable when people "vote" you using their tokens)

• An economic-based anti-spam system (a minimum of tokens deposited can be set as a threshold for people outside your network to communicate with you)

• A DApp directory (a network with the purpose of making users discover the best DApps as easy as possible)

• Other minor features, for which I suggest you to read the whitepaper

I must admit I'm impressed by the magnitude of this project, and I'm definitely participating at the ICO. Envisioning mass adoption of Ethereum decentralized network, I think that this, having the first mover advantage, will be huge.
