Foresting: A Social Media Platform That Truly Pays
There are billions of people who are actively on Facebook, and they’re generating around 4 petabytes of data daily. Do you know just how much that is? An article posted by a certain Jose Diaz in 2009 described 1 petabyte to be equivalent to 20 million units of four-drawer filing cabinets filled with text. If Facebook is generating 4 petabytes of data daily, that would equate to 80 million units of filing cabinets. Content creators can probably build several large buildings with this amount of data! No only that, the huge amount of information being shared across the cyberspace is creating billions of dollars for Facebook, but what do users get in return for this?
Well, you might say, users are somehow rewarded because they get to use the platform for free and at their disposal. They can express themselves, send their message across, increase their knowledge, build their business, entertain themselves, and so on. But considering the massive contribution they bring to Facebook, will it not be fair to compensate them in terms of money?
The team behind Foresting, thinks so, too, that is why it is building a one-of-a-kind social media platform, one that will actually provide a fair compensation to all users. This social media platform, Foresting, promises to fairly and justly distribute the income to platform users based on the quality of their content. This, Foresting, will make possible because of the integration of blockchain technologies which will cause the decentralization of the platform.
Perhaps the biggest impact of decentralization is that it removes central authorities and transfers the power to individual users. So, in the case of Foresting, users themselves get to own the platform, not Mark Zuckerberg or some other CEO. Thus, its Rewards Mechanism will be so designed to allow content creators to earn for feedbacks to the content they bring to the Foresting platform. They, the content creators themselves and not the social media platform, earn income even for “Likes” generated by their posts.
Foresting will be designed to be user-friendly. The platform will sport a simple User Experience Design (UX) and User Interface (UI) so one does not need full knowledge of blockchain or information technology to use the platform. Here at Foresting, users will be able to post and share content with ease, and they, too, will have the option to hide posts they don’t want to make public. A full range of categories will be available on Foresting, so people are welcome to post about anything “under the sun”, and use Foresting as they normally use Facebook and other social media platforms. And it doesn’t matter what device they use because Foresting will be fully-optimized to run on any kind of device.
Here’s a preview of how the intuitive Foresting app:
This intuitive app will have four core features, namely a trading function in real-time, a master node-based P2P transaction feature which allows a minimum of 10 coin openings per user, a content creator sponsor feature that rewards content in real currency as opposed to just “likes” in traditional platforms, and an open market advertising feature.
Foresting will have the support of two other network players, Foresting Bank and Foresting Lab. Foresting Bank, basically, will be responsible for assessing and evaluating the contribution of the users (i.e. posting content, comments, uploading photos and videos, sharing, liking), and this will used as basis in rewarding users. The bank, at the same time, will offer a range of digital banking services. Meanwhile, Foresting Lab will provide all the essentials (space, equiment, etc) a user needs to create content.
The Foresting Network will therefore look like this:
The development of Foresting Bank and Foresting Lab is a clear indication of how serious the Foresting team is in making this project a success. While the adoption of blockchain technologies will already solve a multitude of issues normally faced by centralized social media platforms, it’s very likely not to be enough to sustain the project in the long run. With Foresting Bank and Foresting Lab made part of the network, however, Foresting users can be assured that this isn’t going to be another fly-by-night platform, but one that will be in for the long haul.
Indeed, Foresting has the technology and the infrastructure to make the social media platform transformation a reality. Even the world’s industrial giants and popular brands Google, Sony, Verison, Fox, Bibox, WB, Universal Studios, Loreal, Olay, and Secret, to name a few, see its potential so much so that they have already invested in the project.
All activities on the platform will be fuelled by Foresting’s coin, PTON, the currency that will be used to reward platform participants. There will be 24 billions of PTON, 9.6 of which will be made available for sale, and the rest will be for advertising and marketing, partner shares, rewards, founding team, and the remaining 5% will be used as reserve funds. Pre-sale has already concluded earlier than expected, and this only serves to confirm the high level of confidence investors have on the project.
